  1. I think it is wonderful that, even though Ebola is not as big of a news story as it was a couple of months ago, that people are still concerned with the widespread effect it had and want to make sure it never happens again. The only question I would have is, do these people give their informed consent to be a part of this study? I understand that if you are already sick, there is less of a risk for you to participate in this study, but that does not mean that your consent doesn't matter. While this is an excellent reason to perform research, I think that making sure each person retains their civil rights is equally as important.

  2. It is always encouraging to see cooperation between countries when dealing with virus research. Having a BSL 3 laboratory in Africa will hopefully help control future outbreaks in the region. In addition to having the laboratory, the China CDC team will be training people from Sierra Leone on how to handle viruses like Ebola. Having the training and facilities necessary to address viruses such as Ebola, helps Sierra Leone reach their goal of containing future outbreaks.

  3. It is vital that more research be done on Ebola. It continues to be a threat to many countries. More studies need to be done to develop an effective cure. It would be wonderful if the laboratory could invent a vaccine to take care of the problem.
